Performance Schedule

Kieran Jordan Irish dancer in performance

”Kieran's philosophy is clear and clean in her dancing: rock-solid, light but sturdy, with a puckish sense of humor and a big smile on its face.”

— Dan Accardi, Musician

”When Kieran dances, you can’t help but be drawn in. I’ve never seen anyone so connected to the music. I think she is very true to both the roots and progression of Irish dance.“

— Ananda Henriksen, Dancer

”My wife and I both agree. You stole the show at the Celtic Sojourn. All the way home, I kept saying, what a dancer…what an athlete…what fluid elegance!“

Traditional Irish Music and Dance

Laurel Martin, Mark Roberts, and Kieran Jordan

Massachusetts residents Laurel Martin (fiddle), Mark Roberts (flute, banjo, bouzouki), and Kieran Jordan (sean-nós / “old style” step dance) perform traditional Irish music with the sweetest of melodies and heartiest of grooves. As long-time friends through music, these three artists have performed together over the years in many different groups, including the touring fiddle ensemble, Childsplay. As a trio, they perform with lyricism and consummate skill, weaving dance and music together as one. Their concerts are sprinkled with entertaining and heart-felt anecdotes about their music and dance traditions, promising an uplifting show of good tunes, good steps, and good spirits.

Little Gifts {Bronntanas Beag}

Kieran Jordan Dance

Kieran Jordan Dance will present an evening of choreography celebrating the simplicity and precious "little gifts" of Irish dance steps and tunes. In a genre often dominated by large-scale, pyrotechnic shows, this work will highlight the immediacy and intimacy of solo Irish dance footwork with live, acoustic music, as well as choreographed duos, trios, and small ensemble works that draw from 10 years of the company's work. Audiences are invited to celebrate St. Patrick's Day season by experiencing up-close the energy, artistry, and interconnectedness of Irish dance and music, from a cast of noteworthy Boston-area performers.

This performance is supported by Green Street Studios' company-in-residence program.

Featuring Kieran Jordan Dance company: Amanda Carey, Samantha Jones, Kieran Jordan, Kristen Kelly, Rebecca McGowan, Lauren Milord, Jackie O”Riley, and Hannah Pelton
